In fast-paced societies, people are often too occupied with work and may neglect the elderly at home, leading to the "empty nest syndrome".
Venerable Wei Wu aims to provide care for the elderly, improve their quality of life, and help them live with dignity and peace. Drawing from the teachings of the Buddha, specifically the Brahma Vihara or Four Immeasurables (loving-kindness, compassion, empathetic joy, and equanimity), he has constructed Wan Qing Yuan in Petaling Jaya.
Located in the old town residential area of Petaling Jaya, surrounded by commercial centers, clinics, and hospitals, Wan Qing Yuan is equipped with various facilities. It is a friendly and tranquil neighborhood with a strategic location away from bustling business centers.
The goal is to provide a place that residents can call home, with high-quality care, a conducive and cozy environment. A team of trained nurses provides care and manages the daily operations of the home. Volunteers from Than Hsiang Mitra Welfare Centre visit the home on a regular basis, conduct various activities, and spend quality time with the residents, which brings joy to them.
